The Row is a high-end fashion line created by the infamous twins Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen. Originally known for their street fashion the Olsen clothing line exhibits an understated sort of minimalism. A nomination for the Swarovski Award for Womens’ wear at the recent CFDA is an indication of the brands success bringing the girls to expand the fashion label from clothing, to accessories, to most recently totes and handbags. The Row S/S 2012 collection features functional and understated chic bags called Day Luxe, Classic Shoulder, and Metal Frame. The collection can be found in Tokyo, Aoyama in Adelaide.

Adelaide is one of the best and my favorite import boutiques in Tokyo. Open since 1990 in Minami Aoyama, Adelaide’s list of designer clothing and accessory brands never cease to provide contemporary fashionistas with the latest trends. The interior design by Yukiharu Takematsu and E.P.A. create a wonderful shopping atmosphere where I never walk away without a heighten sense of creativity. Adelaide sister location Addition Adelaide features younger, edgier clothing with upcoming designers from London, Paris, New York, and Tokyo.

Did you know Thomas Wylde is a woman? In actuality the brand Thomas Wylde is owned and founded by Paula Thomas. Since 2006, Miss Thomas has created, designed, and expanded the Thomas Wylde brand into an international label with additional diffusion lines of mens wear, eyewear, and fragrance.  As a previous model, Miss Thomas is an inspiration to future designers and brand creators.

I went to the Thomas Wylde book launch party at Tabloid with blogger Mai Sassy Girl. Hosted by M inc It was a unique event because it celebrates the 10 seasons or 5 years the since Thomas Wylde brand has been launched. The book, photographed by Rankin, is both sensuous and rebellious. It features Transformers 3 supermodel Rosie Huntington-Whiteley as the Wylde muse in ten different provocative themes.

Paula Thomas and Rankin talk about the inspiration of the book.

Miu Miu opened it’s fourth and biggest flagship store in Ginza. On November 11theveryone who loves sparkles was at the massive three-level store opening. The ads of 14-year-old Hailee Steinfeld for Miu Miu Autumn/Winter 2011 campaign represent the characteristic of a grown-up child. The pileup of pearl and diamante necklaces, bracelets, earrings, belts, and Alice bands in this collection express youthful decadence. Still the ankle-strap sandals and check-print pumps with bows at the ankle are all far too gorgeous and too expensive to leave to the little ones. From today, I have a pair of Miu Miu’s on my Christmas wish list.
