Tokyo Runway. The last S/S 2012 Girls Collection in Tokyo, Japan. If you are wondering what “Girls Collections” are they are a combined show of fashion, live music, and entertainers. Tokyo Girls Collection,Tokyo Runway, and Girls Award are whole day fashion concerts where fashionistas can watch 20-30 different brand shows plus see some of their favorite artists live. A winning combination that regularly packs the main Yoyogi Gymnasium hall with over 10,000 screaming fans.
The line up starts from early morning when the models and artists are just arriving for rehearsal.
After stage rehearsal it is time for make up. Here is a behind the scenes look at the make up process that goes into getting ready for the big stage!
Enjoy, xx
The 100 meter long stage is a work out to strut in heels.

Spring/Summer is coming soon, or at least I hope so. For the next few weeks it is tenjikai season where we preview the collections and shop for next years fashion. Mercury Duo is one of the many Japanese fashion labels that has caught my eye. One brand of many in the fashion house Mark Styler, Mercury Duo has connected with on trend celebrity style by collaborating with celebrity fashionistas like Nicole Richie and fashion toast blogger Rumi Neely.
The concept for S/S 2012 is Natural Luxury with pastel feminine colors, lots of lace, and sequines. This season also offers collaboration with Minnetonka moccasins that are to die for.

Visual press agents are the cutest models for their brand. I ended up ordering the blue dress and sweater as a set.
Press agent Haruka
Unfortunately ordering at an exhibition means the clothes will not come till January, but I could not stop myself from picking up 2.5 pages of dresses, hand bags, heels, and wraps. As a result I was given a special 50% discount card to shop till I drop at one of their many locations around Japan.
Thank you Mercury Duo! I can’t wait till my boxes of beautiful clothes show up at my door.

Versace has brought the 80′s back with a loud, vibrant, and undeniably bad ass rock n’ roll collaboration collection with H&M. On 11/9th I went with MaiSassyGirl to view the much anticipated collection and I was definitely not let down. Donatella revivies iconic Gianni Versace signature looks with Medusa logos on bags and bombers, bedazzled panther chokers, and tropical floral patterns on tight leggings and tunic tops. For men there were a hot-pink suit, studded tuxedo-style shorts and crocodile patterns on sweaters to wear if they dare.
I tried the orange dress, but I felt like a sequined tropical panther that did not need to be let out of it’s cage. The eclectic pieces felt bare on it’s own. I wanted to deck myself out from head to toe in print leggings and chunky jewelry to completely embrace the Donatella Versace glamour.
Although I could not pull off the sequined tropical panther look I did dig this cap with a more minimal statement

The graphic oversized mens sweater make Mai’s baby bump look 3D!
Viewing the collection up close made me rethink my party wardrobe and the limits I could go to. While Japanese love eclectic, they are not fond of showing too much skin. After trying on some pieces I fell in love with the this yellow studded mini, the and the silver chain mail dress that shimmered like a disco ball.
While H&M will definitely start a shopping freinzy on November 19 when the collection is released in Tokyo there are many other pieces to the H&M Spring collection worth checking out. The colors are for this spring are flirty pastels or solid bold colors.
